Crisis Prevention Intervention ®

All of Coastal Learning Center’s staff is trained in the following program to ensure that the care of each individual attending our school is in the proper care.

Nonviolent Crisis Intervention ®

Since 1980, more than 5 million human service providers across the globe have been trained through the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention ® program to provide for the care, welfare, safety and security of everyone involved in a crisis situation. Participants include human service providers in fields such as health care, mental health, education, social welfare, residential services, security, law enforcement and corrections.

Time and time again the principles and techniques taught in the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention ® program have proven effective in resolving potentially violent situations. By participating in this program, you will gain the confidence necessary to handle crisis situations with minimal anxiety and maximum security. The training will help you intervene more safely when behavior becomes dangerous. And most importantly, it won’t damage the professional bond you’ve worked so hard to establish with the individuals in your care.

We hope this training session will be the first step on a meaningful journey toward a safer, more supportive work environment.
